Bruce Lee - DOS game screenshot (1987) by Datasoft

Bruce Lee is a platform beat 'em up where the legendary martial artist explores a wizard's tower, seeking infinite wealth and the secret of immortality. The game consists of twenty chambers, each a single screen with platforms, ladders, and climbing nets. To progress, Bruce must collect all lanterns suspended around each chamber, which opens an exit to the next area. Two enemies guard most chambers: the black Ninja who attacks with a bokken stick, and the Green Yamo, a large sumo warrior who punches and kicks. Bruce can punch, kick, or perform flying kicks. Later chambers introduce moving walls, mines, and electric sparks racing along surfaces. After the twentieth chamber, Bruce faces the evil Fire Wizard. A second player can control Yamo simultaneously.

DOS

Released in 1984 by Datasoft Inc. for MS-DOS . This version features 4-color CGA graphics (cyan, magenta, white, and black), which some players found less visually appealing than the Commodore 64 original . The gameplay itself remains faithful to the Atari and C64 versions in most aspects, though playing on an analog PC joystick can feel unnatural; keyboard controls are available as an alternative . The DOS version retains all twenty chambers, the two-player mode, and the core mechanics of collecting lanterns while evading the Ninja and Yamo . A notable technical consideration: the game runs correctly only on a 4.77MHz PC—faster machines require a slowdown program to maintain proper speed . Despite the graphical limitations, the DOS conversion delivers the same fast-paced platform action that made the original a classic, with responsive controls and balanced difficulty .
