Bruce Lee is a platform beat 'em up where the legendary martial artist explores a wizard's tower, seeking infinite wealth and the secret of immortality. The game consists of twenty chambers, each a single screen with platforms, ladders, and climbing nets. To progress, Bruce must collect all lanterns suspended around each chamber, which opens an exit to the next area. Two enemies guard most chambers: the black Ninja who attacks with a bokken stick, and the Green Yamo, a large sumo warrior who punches and kicks. Bruce can punch, kick, or perform flying kicks. Later chambers introduce moving walls, mines, and electric sparks. After the twentieth chamber, Bruce faces the evil Fire Wizard.
Commodore 64
Released in April 1984 by Datasoft, this version features multicolored 2D graphics by Kelly Day and a legendary SID soundtrack by John A. Fitzpatrick—one of the best game tunes of the 8-bit era. Controls are responsive via joystick. The game supports three modes: one player, two players alternating, and two players simultaneous (Bruce vs. Yamo). Bruce has five lives and loses one when touching enemies or hazards. Points are awarded for lanterns (125), Ninja (200), Yamo (450), and new rooms (2000). After completion, the game loops with increased difficulty. The C64 version remains a beloved classic for its tight controls, iconic music, and two-player mode.
