Published in 1987 by U.S. Gold and developed by Canvas Software for the 48K Spectrum . The game is spread across two cassettes, requiring each new hole and course to be loaded from tape—a notable inconvenience compared to disk-based versions . Your Sinclair awarded 9 out of 10, while a retrospective review gave 90% overall (Graphics 88%, Music/SFX 75%, Playability 94%), noting that "World Class Leaderboard represents a significant improvement over the already excellent original" and praising the "longer fairways and realistic tree-lined holes for an authentic feel" . Three expansion disks (Famous Courses of the World Volumes 1-3) were later released, each adding four new courses . The Spectrum version supports up to four players and offers three difficulty levels including Novice and Professional modes .
