Pub Games is a multiplayer sports compilation developed by Dollarsoft and published by Alligata Software in 1988 . The game simulates a night at the British pub, collecting seven traditional bar games: Darts, Bar Billiards, Dominoes, Table Football (foosball), Pontoon (Blackjack), Poker, and Skittles . Two modes are available: Practice Mode lets you play any game in any order; "Full Pub Games Run" takes you through all seven events sequentially, with each game awarding £1 to the winner—the player with the most money at the end wins . Table Football is the only game supporting simultaneous two-player action; all others are turn-based "hot seat" affairs . A complete run takes approximately two hours .
Commodore 64
Released in 1988, this version was programmed by John Stevenson with music composed by Ben Daglish . The C64 port features a fast turbo-loading system, reducing load times to around 10 minutes per full tape, though the loader requires precise counter digits—failure to fast-forward to the prompted spot crashes the game . Graphics are considered the best among 8-bit ports, but the darts event received heavy criticism: the camera is zoomed in showing only half the board at a time, the throwing hand wiggles erratically causing motion sickness, and darts can bounce off the wire frame and fall to the floor, forcing the camera to follow . Player feedback on Lemon64 is a low 5.2/10 . Despite these flaws, the compilation offers faithful recreations of traditional pub pastimes for Commodore 64 owners willing to endure the quirks.
