Captain America in: The Doom Tube of Dr. Megalomann is an action-adventure game and the first video game to feature the Marvel superhero. Set below the Mojave Desert, Dr. Megalomann has built a secret base called the Doom Tube—three concentric cylinders divided into decks and quadrants, connected by an elevator called the "Orbivator". A deadly virus has been released; Captain America must recover password pieces, increase his immunity by collecting Ying-Yang from enemies, and disarm the missiles. He throws his nearly indestructible shield (limited but retrievable), but rotators and lethal beams block progress. The entire game is played in real time with a strict one-hour time limit.

The game received mixed to negative reviews: Crash magazine rated it 36%, criticizing the lack of character definition and poor audio, calling it "a disappointing licence, wasting great potential" . Your Sinclair (issue 27) offered a slightly more positive take, noting "the graphics aren't going to win any awards, but they're a nice size and very clear," describing it as "a jolly little explore 'n' shoot game that hasn't got an awful lot to do with Capt. America but is fun all the same" . Sinclair User praised the challenging gameplay . The B-side of the cassette includes a free song titled "Who's Crying Now" by the band Resister, described by Your Sinclair as "an insipid American West-Coasty 'mild metal' rock song" .
