Medal of Honor: Underground is a first-person shooter developed by DreamWorks Interactive and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation, released in North America on October 23, 2000. Unlike the first game which followed OSS agent Jimmy Patterson, Underground puts you in the role of Manon Batiste, a young French woman who joins the Resistance after watching her brother killed and her hometown occupied by Nazi forces. Over the course of the game, she transforms from a naive volunteer into a seasoned OSS operative. Missions include sabotage of V-1 rocket facilities, infiltration of Wewelsburg castle, escapes through catacombs, rescuing prisoners, and a motorcycle sidecar chase. The arsenal features historically accurate weapons including the Sten Mk II, StG 44, and Thompson submachine gun.

Released in October 2000, Medal of Honor: Underground received generally favorable reviews, holding a Metascore of 80. Critics praised the immersive atmosphere, with the orchestral soundtrack described as "perfect for a WWII game." The level design was noted as more varied and ambitious than the original, featuring larger environments and better integration of narrative context. However, technical limitations were criticized: low draw distance results in significant fog, and frame rate drops during intense firefights are common. Controls were described as "awkward," lacking analog support for mobility, and there are no mid-mission checkpoints, forcing full level restarts upon death. For PlayStation owners and WWII shooter enthusiasts, Underground remains a solid sequel that improved mission variety and storytelling, though it shows the technical limits of the late PS1 era. A challenging experience best appreciated by series fans.
