Forgotten Worlds is a horizontally scrolling shooter developed by Capcom for arcades in 1988, the first title on their CP System hardware. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, you control one of two muscle-bound soldiers known as the Nameless Ones, equipped with jetpacks. A unique feature is the orbiting satellite that fires 360 degrees independently of your movement. Defeated enemies drop Zenny currency, spent at mid-level shops on weapons (Spread, Laser), armour, and health. The arcade supports two-player simultaneous co-op and features large end-level bosses.

Released in Japan on March 27, 1992 by NEC Avenue as a Super CD-ROM² title, and in North America in November 1992 for the TurboGrafx-CD . This version is single-player only—the arcade's two-player co-op mode is absent . To compensate, you can select either of the two soldiers at the start, each retaining their unique abilities from the arcade . The PC Engine controller uses only two buttons: I fires, II rotates right, and the Run button rotates left—an awkward scheme mitigated by the Avenue Pad 3 (a three‑button controller sold specifically for this game) . CD-ROM audio delivers digitized voice samples and superior music . Three difficulty levels (Easy, Normal, Hard) and customizable starting lives (1-5) are included . Critic reviews range from 70-90% . Considered an excellent conversion, though the lack of co-op remains its only major flaw .
