Doraemon: Nobita no Dorabian Night is a side-scrolling action-platformer based on the 1991 animated film of the same name. The story begins when Nobita and his friends jump into their favorite storybooks, only to become trapped inside. Doraemon, the robotic cat from the 22nd century, must embark on a rescue mission across multiple book-themed realms, including a prehistoric dinosaur land, a haunted house, and Arabian-inspired fantasy settings. The gameplay is non-linear: each world is divided into sub-zones connected by blue doors, and Doraemon can revisit completed stages. Doraemon can run, jump, and use his "Stunt Gun" to freeze enemies. Special gadgets include the Take-Copter (a flying hat to skip stages) and cream for walking on water. New weapons like the Log Gun and Homing Bomb Gun upgrade offense.

Released exclusively in Japan on December 6, 1991, by Hudson Soft on a HuCard. Music was composed by Maki Watanabe, Yōko Motoshuku, and Eiji Hasegawa. Critical reception among import players was positive but measured. Reviewers praised the solid Hudson-style platforming, charming presentation faithful to the source material, and non-linear level design encouraging exploration. However, criticism targeted the lack of a save or password system forcing long play sessions, uneven difficulty spikes (notably in world 3-3), and the absence of parallax scrolling outside of two levels. The game is also noted for its slow, deliberate pacing, which some dislike. While not one of the genre's greats, Dorabian Night remains a fun, solid licensed platformer. A Super CD-ROM² version followed in May 1992, adding voice acting and animated cutscenes.
