Power Drift

Power Drift is an arcade racing game featuring high-speed dune buggy racing across 25 circuits divided into five themed courses with five stages each. Choose from 12 distinctive drivers—businessmen, skinheads, and mohicans—each with unique animations. Race through diverse environments: cities, deserts, and water tracks. Compete against 11 opponents, finishing in the top three to advance. The game features two gears, responsive driving mechanics, and hilarious driver interactions during overtaking. PC Engine

Released in 1990 exclusively in Japan by Asmik Ace Entertainment and developed by Copya System, this HuCard conversion delivers solid arcade racing action with impressive graphics, sound effects, and voice acting for the console. Features nice sprite animations and smooth scrolling comparable to other 16-bit versions. Gameplay remains excellent with responsive controls despite the smaller viewport limiting visibility on slopes and curves. Unlock bonus races piloting a motorcycle or jet by achieving first place across all nine levels. The PC Engine version offers the best balance between arcade authenticity and console gameplay, standing alongside the C64 conversion as one of the finest interpretations of the arcade original.
