Micro Machines: Military is a top-down vehicular combat racer and a specialized spin-off of the famous miniature racing franchise. Players command a variety of tiny armed vehicles, including tanks, helicopters, and assault boats, across creative "real-world" environments like breakfast tables, sandy beaches, and workshops. The core gameplay focuses on high-speed racing where the goal is to drive far enough ahead of opponents to force them off the screen, earning points to win the round. Unlike the standard series, the Military edition emphasizes combat, allowing vehicles to use mounted weaponry to disrupt rivals while navigating treacherous tracks filled with household obstacles.

Megadrive

Released in 1996 exclusively for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis in PAL regions, this title was published by Codemasters as a standalone expansion. It utilizes the "J-Cart" technology, featuring two extra controller ports built directly into the cartridge, allowing four players to compete simultaneously without needing a separate multi-tap adapter. The game features 16 unique tracks and a roster of military-themed vehicles, each with specific handling and firing capabilities. On the Mega Drive, it is celebrated for its smooth 16-bit performance and chaotic multiplayer sessions. This version remains a technical highlight for the console, pushing the hardware's ability to track multiple fast-moving objects and projectile physics while maintaining a high framerate.
