Super Skidmarks is an isometric top-down racing game where you drive fast vehicles across twenty-four tracks with varied terrain. Choose from multiple cars ranging from Formula 1 racers to motorized cows, with the option to tow a caravan dramatically affecting handling. Race solo or compete with multiple opponents in split-screen and single-screen modes. Drift around tight corners, exploit the physics, and master skid techniques for victory across different championship competitions.
Mega Drive
Released in 1995 by Acid Software for the Mega Drive, the conversion faced significant technical constraints compared to the Amiga original. Sprites were reduced in detail and animation frames simplified to fit cartridge limitations. The widescreen link mode supporting eight players was removed, limiting multiplayer to four-player split-screen. Graphics retained the isometric perspective though with less visual polish. Controls adapted reasonably well to the Mega Drive controller. While the core racing gameplay remained engaging, the Amiga version offered superior presentation and multiplayer. It represents a competent but compromised translation of Acid Software's racing classic.
