Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road is a top-down off-road racing game converted from the 1989 Leland Corporation arcade hit. Up to three players compete simultaneously in short, multi-lap truck races on a single fixed screen of dirt tracks filled with bumps, craters, and jumps. The goal is to beat the other trucks, especially the faster grey AI car representing Ivan Stewart, to win prize money and collect cash bags scattered on the track. This money is spent between races to upgrade performance (top speed, acceleration, grip, shocks) and to purchase more nitro boosts. Finishing behind Stewart costs a credit, with game over when all credits are lost.
Sega Master System
Released in September 1993 by Virgin Games, developed by Graftgold . This conversion features 12 tracks rather than the arcade's eight, played in forward and reverse for a total of 24 unique races before looping . The upgrade system for tires, shocks, acceleration, and top speed is fully preserved, and nitro boosts can be purchased between races. Graphics use the hardware's full screen width but are considered visually simpler than other versions, with odd colour choices on podium and trophy screens . Sound is described as weak compared to other ports. Supports 1-2 players simultaneously. The back of the box lists three difficulty levels. A solid but visually compromised conversion that retains the addictive arcade gameplay.
