Penguin Land is a puzzle-platform game developed and published by Sega for the Master System in 1987. Known in Japan as Doki Doki Penguin Land Uchū Daibōken, it follows Penguin Mission Commander Overbite, who must guide three lost eggs down to the bottom of a frigid cavern to his waiting spaceship crew. The object of each level is to push and drop an egg through a vertically scrolling cavern, breaking ice blocks to create a path while ensuring the egg doesn't fall more than three blocks. The player can melt ice blocks, push rocks, and navigate hazards including polar bear-like Gangows and Cameel birds. A variety of block types add strategic depth. The game features 50 stages and includes a built-in level editor that can save up to 15 custom levels.

This version is notable for being one of the first home console games to feature a battery backup save feature, released just four days before The Legend of Zelda in North America. The controls are simple: one button to jump and another to dig in the direction the penguin faces. The physics require precise movement, as the penguin has momentum and the egg wobbles when pushed. Critics have praised the game's clever puzzle design and the freedom to find multiple solutions to each level. The sound design features a single catchy tune. The inclusion of a level editor was considered ambitious for its time, significantly extending replayability. The game is remembered as one of the more unique and polished puzzle titles on the Master System.
