Puzzle & Action: Ichidant-R GG is a puzzle game developed and released by Sega for the Game Gear on November 25, 1994. It is the sequel to Puzzle & Action: Tant-R and the second installment in the Puzzle & Action series, which began as an arcade title on Sega's System C-2 hardware . The game retains the structure of its predecessor, presenting the player with a series of fast-paced, timed minigames. However, the theme shifts from the crime motif of Tant-R to a medieval setting. The protagonists from the first game, Robo and Mobo from Bonanza Bros., return to play the roles of knights in a theatrical performance . The goal is to complete four rounds of minigames, with the selection rotating so the player must time their choice to tackle the desired challenge. Many of the minigames follow concepts similar to the first game, testing button-timing, memorization, or the ability to choose the correct option among many . The game includes a "Lucky!" round that grants bonus lives and a balloon-popping bonus stage at the end of each round .

Game Gear

This Game Gear version is a portable adaptation of the arcade original, released exclusively in Japan (and South Korea) and never officially localized for the West . It supports both single-player and multiplayer modes . The game received a generally positive reception, with reviewers noting its addictive and challenging mix of puzzles and action . It was praised for its creative minigame variety and the risk-reward system of selecting games for a chance at extra lives . Critical scores were also respectable, with Sega Saturn Magazine awarding it a 79% and Famitsu giving it a score of 60 out of 100 . The game was later re-released digitally on the Nintendo Switch .
