The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends is a platform game based on the classic animated series. The plot follows Rocky and Bullwinkle as they chase after Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale, who have stolen three valuable artifacts—the Piquayune Pot, the Curwood Derby, and Omar Khayyam's ruby yacht—from the Frostbite Falls museum . Players can switch between the two titular heroes across various levels: Bullwinkle attacks by headbutting with his antlers, while Rocky uses his tail to strike enemies . The game features an overworld with three main levels, each divided into multiple sections .

Game Boy

Released in October 1992 by THQ and developed by Imagineering, this handheld version features only three main levels: Frostbite Falls (Bullwinkle), the Moon (Rocky), and the Abominable Manor (Bullwinkle again) . A bonus football field level allows players to earn extra lives by headbutting opponents to reach Rocky . The game uses a three-health-point system, and losing all lives sends the player back to the start of the current level's first section . The soundtrack was composed by Mark Van Hecke . The level design shares similarities with another Imagineering Game Boy title, The Ren & Stimpy Show: Space Cadet Adventures . Critical reception was mixed; while the graphics were praised for capturing the cartoon's art style, reviewers heavily criticized the stiff controls, poor hit detection, frustrating difficulty, and repetitive music . Some considered it an improvement over its NES counterpart but still a flawed experience .
