Wolfenstein 3D

Game Boy Advance

Wolfenstein 3D is a first-person shooter that pioneered the genre and laid the foundation for modern FPS titles. You play as William "B.J." Blazkowicz, an Allied prisoner of war during World War II, trapped deep inside the Nazi fortress of Castle Wolfenstein. Armed with a knife, pistol, and later a chaingun, you must fight through maze-like levels filled with Nazi soldiers, attack dogs, and officers. Your mission is to escape the castle and ultimately assassinate the deranged Führer, Adolf Hitler, in his mechanized suit. The gameplay features fast-paced run-and-gun action, secret walls hiding treasure and ammo, and colored keys required to progress.

Released in April 2002 by BAM! Entertainment, this version closely resembles the PC original . Developed by Stalker Entertainment and programmed by Mike Danylchuk, it features all six episodes and 60 levels from the PC version, including four difficulty settings . The game retains the uncensored imagery of the original, including swastikas and red blood . However, the music track is absent—a notable compromise that removes Bobby Prince's iconic MIDI score . The save system requires completing a full floor before saving, with up to four save slots available . Performance includes occasional framerate drops in open areas, and strong mipmapping creates pixelated distant objects . Despite a Metacritic score of 57, the port remains a faithful and nostalgic trip for fans of the genre's originator .
