Tiger Road is a side-scrolling action game released by Capcom in 1987. You play as Lee Wong, a master of the Tiger Technique of Oh-Lin, who must rescue kidnapped children from the evil Dragon God Ryuken. The game spans five fortresses, each helmed by a boss. Lee's main weapon is an axe that returns like a boomerang, with other weapons including a spear and spiked ball, all upgradeable. Between stages are training missions where you complete obstacle courses or snuff candles to earn upgrades, including the powerful "Tiger Way" projectile. The game is brutally difficult, featuring collapsing bridges, instant-death skull traps, and spiked ceilings.

DOS

Released in 1988/1989 by U.S. Gold under their Go! label in Europe as part of a licensing deal with Capcom . The DOS port supports CGA and EGA graphics, with the EGA mode providing a more colorful visual experience. The conversion was developed by Probe Software, though some sources credit ICE Software with the actual porting work . The DOS version retains the core gameplay mechanics: horizontally scrolling action across multiple height levels, magic urns containing weapon upgrades, and indoor sections where large enemies can kill with a single hit. Unlike the arcade original, the training bonus stages are missing from this version. The game was distributed on 5.25-inch floppy disks and runs on IBM PC compatibles. The DOS port is considered a competent but simplified adaptation of the arcade hit, suffering from the same content cuts as other home computer conversions of the era.
