Water Polo

Commodore 64

Water Polo is a sports simulation of the niche discipline of water polo, one of the first commercial video games on this sport ever released . The pool is viewed from the long side in a 2.5D perspective with horizontal scrolling . Each team consists of six players including the goalkeeper . You control the player closest to the ball, identified by the distinctive bright cap . When in possession, holding fire lifts the ball for a shot or pass; releasing it determines the throw . Shots can be flatter or lobbed depending on stick movement, and spin can be added by pushing up or down . Matches consist of four quarters of five real minutes . Attacks must be completed within 35 seconds . Tackles from the front are allowed, but attacking from behind results in a foul . Three fouls lead to a 1.5-minute suspension .
