Wild Streets is a side-scrolling beat ’em up set in New York City in the year 1998, where the city is split between luxurious mansions of drug barons and ruined areas controlled by street gangs . The CIA chief known as “The Boss” has been kidnapped by the mob to obtain the names of undercover operatives . You play as an elite agent dropped into the combat zone with your trained black panther and a Magnum 357 pistol . Your mission is to fight through waves of criminals, rescue The Boss, and escort him back to safety . You can punch, kick, shoot with your gun (bullets are limited), and occasionally your panther will attack enemies . As you progress, enemies become faster and deadlier .

Released in 1989 in the UK by Titus Software . The 16-bit version features end-of-level bosses (larger thugs, some armed with clubs), which are absent from 8-bit ports . ST Format magazine reviewed it in issue #8 (March 1990), praising the "tall sprites and well-drawn backdrops" and the "impressive spot effects" that emulate the panther's growls and the thud of fist on flesh . However, critics noted that characters move in a "leisurely fashion," making action sequences lack force, and the gameplay follows a "formulaic pattern" with shallow variation . ST Format concluded: "If you like beat-'em-ups, there's no reason why you shouldn't fall for this one" . Also released on Amiga and MS-DOS, with little difference between the 16-bit versions .
