Street Cred Football

Amstrad CPC

Street Cred Football is a five-a-side street football game that strips away the corporate poshness of modern football. A crate serves as the goal, and hitting it more times than the opponent is the only rule. You select your team of 5 players from a pool of 24 characters, including representations of the programmers, Joe Blade, and other Players Software heroes. You can position your players freely around the pitch before kick-off to optimize your strategy. During the match, you automatically control the player nearest the ball, with full passing and shooting control available. Dirty challenges are not only permitted but encouraged. The game supports one or two players simultaneously, with two-player mode allowing head-to-head matches.

Amstrad CPC

Released in 1989 by Players Premier as a budget title . The Amstrak conversion was handled by Andy Severn , with music by Ian Sheridan . The CPC version shares many similarities with the ZX Spectrum port, including a monochromatic main playing area (single color) while the background color remains customizable . The field is shown in a vertically scrolling isometric view, with goals delimited by pairs of crates and no goalkeepers. The game supports single-player against computer AI, two-player head-to-head, and a demo mode where two computers play each other . Reviews were generally negative, with critics complaining about small, ugly sprites that make it difficult to see which player you are controlling.
