Released in 1995 by Effigy Software, Pinball Prelude represents innovative thinking in digital pinball gaming. Amiga Computing awarded it 90%, Amiga Format gave 88%, and CU Amiga gave 84%, praising the creative table design and impressive graphics. The Prehistoric and Future tables earned particular recognition for their originality. Effigy later released the game on dual-format CD containing simultaneous Amiga, CD32, and PC versions. While ball physics proved controversial among some players, the game's stylish presentation and imagination earned respect as a singular pinball experience.
