Amiga

Released in 1990 by Psygnosis and developed by Binary Design, this version is a technical showcase of early Amiga capabilities. It features highly detailed, metallic industrial backgrounds and fluid character animations that capture the cold, mechanical atmosphere of the setting. The game is particularly noted for its atmospheric title music composed by Tim Wright, which utilizes the Amiga's 4-channel sampling to its fullest. While the difficulty is notoriously high due to precise jumping requirements and respawning enemies, the Amiga version remains the definitive way to experience the title. It utilizes a multi-load system to pack significant graphical variety into each of its distinct underground sectors, pushing the standard 512KB RAM configurations of the era.
