Victory Road is a futuristic run-and-gun game and the sequel to Ikari Warriors. Commandos Paul and Vince are flying home when a storm hurls them into the future. They land in a world conquered by alien Zang Zip and must fight through hordes of alien soldiers and mutants. The game maintains the top-down perspective but replaces military vehicles with a power-up armor system. Players begin with a flamethrower, but upon losing a life, it reverts to a standard machine gun. The arsenal includes grenades, boomerangs, and a sword that deflects enemy fire. The arcade original featured a 12-way rotary joystick, allowing movement in one direction while firing in another. This mechanic proved challenging to replicate on home computers.

Amiga

Released in 1989 by Imagine Software and developed by Microwish, the Amiga conversion is considered one of the most disappointing arcade ports on the system. The transition resulted in a severe downgrade in visuals and gameplay. The game was criticized for its "ugly colour palette" dominated by yellows and browns, looking more like a C64 game than something showcasing the Amiga's 4096-color palette. The controls suffered from "portitis," as the complex rotary joystick mechanic was translated poorly, resulting in clunky movement. Its slow performance and rushed feel led many to suspect it was a quick Atari ST port rather than a proper Amiga conversion. The only praised aspect is the soundtrack by Fred Gray, which stands out amidst the subpar delivery. Today, it is cited as a cautionary tale of a bad arcade port, a low point in the Amiga's library and a stark contrast to the praised conversion of the original Ikari Warriors.
